NFPA members also support FIRST (For Insipration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a non-profit organization focused on engaging students in science, mathematics, engineering and technology. FIRST coordinates three design programs: FIRST Lego League for children 9-14, the FIRST Robotics Competition for high school students, and the recently introduced VEX Challenge.
