Toolkit Tips for Users
To open the Toolkit:
Always open Excel first, then use the File.Open menu commands in Excel to find the Toolkit2.xls file on your computer and open it.
To transfer graphs from the Toolkit to other applications:
Once you have completed some type of analysis, you can copy/paste the graph into other documents (such as Word or PowerPoint) using the "edit...paste special.Picture (enhanced metafile)" or "Picture" option instead of the normal paste option. You can also copy/paste data. If you want a vertical column rather than a row, you will need to use the "Paste Special" and "Transpose" options in the Edit Menu.
Viewing the results of your analysis:
If the information for a particular analysis section of the Toolkit doesn't quite fit on your screen, try altering the "zoom" value. This is normally at the upper right, on the standard Excel toolbar, or in the View Menu.
Using other data sources:
You may have other market indicators that you use, or data from product lines that are not captured within the CSS. You can use these sources of data in the toolkit, by cutting and pasting the data into the appropriate cells of the Custom_Driver_Data sheet of the CompanyData.xls file. Add labels in the sheet to these new data drivers and the labels will appear in the drop-down menus in Section C (NFPA Data vs. Possible Drivers) of the trend analysis sheet of the toolkit.
