ISO 16889:2008: Hydraulic fluid power - Filters – Multi-pass method for evaluating filtration performance of a filter element. This International Standard describes the following: a) a multi-pass filtration performance test with continuous contamination injections for hydraulic fluid power filter elements; b) a procedure for determining the contaminant capacity, particulate removal and differential pressure characteristics; c) a test currently applicable to hydraulic fluid power filter elements that exhibit an average filtration ratio greater than or equal to 75 for particle sizes less than or equal to 25 micrometre (c), and a final reservoir gravimetric level of less than 200 mg/l; NOTE: The range of flows and the lower particle size limit that can be used in test facilities will be determined by validation. d) a test using ISO Medium Test Dust contaminant and a test fluid in accordance with Annex A. This International Standard is intended to provide a test procedure that yields reproducible test data for appraising the filtration performance of a hydraulic fluid power filter element without influence of electrostatic charge. This International Standard applies to three test conditions:
- test condition 1, conducted with a base upstream gravimetric level of 3 mg/l;
- test condition 2, conducted with a base upstream gravimetric level of 10 mg/l;
- test condition 3, conducted with a base upstream gravimetric level of 15 mg/l.

ISO 3601-2:2008: Fluid power systems – O-rings – Part 2: Housing dimensions for general applications. This part of ISO 3601 specifies the housing (gland) dimensions for Class A O-rings for general industrial applications conforming to ISO 3601-1, as well as housing dimensions for Class B O-rings used on selected metric-dimensioned hardware, e.g. fluid power cylinder bores and piston rods. These O-rings are for use in general hydraulic and pneumatic applications without and with anti-extrusion rings (back-up rings). The dimensions of the O-rings (d1 and d2), size codes (SC) and tolerances conform to ISO 3601-1. 
Housing dimensions for the O-rings intended for aerospace applications that are specified in ISO 3601-1 are addressed in informative Annex A.
NOTE 1 It is expected that O-ring housing dimensions for special applications be agreed between the O-ring manufacturer and the user.
NOTE 2 The terms "housing," "groove" and "gland" are interchangeable, and their usage is a matter of local convenience. In this part of ISO 3601, the term "housing" is used exclusively.

ISO 3601-4:2008: Fluid power systems – O-rings – Part 4: Anti-extrusion rings (back-up rings). This part of ISO 3601 specifies dimensions and tolerances for five types of anti-extrusion rings, which are also known as back-up rings: 
a) spiral type (T1); 
b) angle cut type (T2); 
c) solid type (T3); 
d) angle cut concave type (T4);
e) solid concave type (T5).
These anti-extrusion rings are to be used with selected O-ring sizes specified in ISO 3601-1 and the relevant housing dimensions specified in ISO 3601-2.

ISO 3724:2007: Hydraulic fluid power — Filter elements — Determination of resistance to flow fatigue using particulate contaminant. This International Standard specifies a method for determining the resistance of a hydraulic filter element to flow fatigue after it has been loaded with particulate contaminant and subjected to a uniform varying flow rate and predetermined maximum element differential pressure. It establishes a uniform method for verifying the ability of a filter element to withstand the flexing caused by cyclic differential pressures induced by a variable flow rate. NOTE Annex A summarizes data from a round robin test performed to verify the procedure specified in this International Standard.

ISO 6020-1:2007: Hydraulic fluid power — Mounting dimensions for single rod cylinders, 16 MPa (160 bar) series — Part 1: Medium series. This part of ISO 6020 establishes metric mounting dimensions for medium series cylinders, 16 MPa (160 bar), as required for interchangeability of commonly used hydraulic cylinders. The medium series dimensions are applicable to round head cylinders with bores from 25 to 200 mm and to both round or square head cylinders with bores larger than 200 mm, thus allowing a wider range of applications. NOTE This part of ISO 6020 allows manufacturers of hydraulic equipment flexibility in the design of 16 MPa (160 bar) cylinders and does not restrict technical development however, it does provide basic guidelines.

ISO 6194-1:2007: Rotary shaft lip-type seals incorporating elastomeric sealing elements – Part 1: Nominal dimensions and tolerances. This part of ISO 6194 describes seals utilising elastomeric sealing elements. They are considered suitable for use under low-pressure conditions (see 6.1). This part of ISO 6194 shows seal types and examples. It also specifies the nominal dimensions and tolerances of the seals, shafts and housings, as well as a dimensional identification code. NOTE ISO 6194 is complementary to ISO 16589, which covers seals incorporating thermoplastic sealing elements.

ISO 6194-5:2008: Rotary — shaft lip — type seals incorporating elastomeric sealing elements — Part 5: Identification of visual imperfections. This part of ISO 6194 describes seals utilizing elastomeric sealing elements. They are normally considered suitable for use only at low pressures (see ISO6194-1:2007, 6.1). This part of ISO 6194 defines and classifies typical surface imperfections that can impair the function of the seals and is intended as a convenience for purchasers and manufacturers in their discussions concerning the importance of these imperfections in different applications. NOTE ISO 6194 (all parts) is complementary to ISO 16589 (all parts), which covers seals incorporating thermoplastic sealing elements.

ISO 8426:2008: Hydraulic fluid power — Positive displacement pumps and motors — Determination of derived capacity. This International Standard specifies the methods of determining the derived capacity of hydraulic fluid power positive displacement pumps and motors under steady-state conditions and at defined, continuous shaft rotational frequencies. Units can be tested as a positive displacement pump, with mechanical energy applied to the shaft and hydraulic energy obtained at the outlet fluid connection, or as a motor, with hydraulic energy supplied to the inlet fluid connection and mechanical energy obtained at the shaft. NOTE Measurement accuracy is divided into three classes A, B and C, which are explained in Annex A.

ISO 10770-3:2007: Hydraulic fluid power – Electrically modulated hydraulic control valves – Part 3: Test methods for pressure control valves. This part of ISO 10770 describes tests for determining the performance characteristics of electrically modulated hydraulic pressure control valves.

ISO 13726:2008: Hydraulic fluid power — Single rod cylinders, 16 MPa (160 bar) compact series with bores from 250 mm to 500 mm — Accessory mounting dimensions. This International Standard specifies the mounting dimensions required for interchangeability of accessories for 16 MPa (160 bar) compact cylinders conforming to ISO 6020-3. The accessories have been designed specifically for use with cylinders manufactured in accordance with ISO 6020-3, but this does not limit their application. This International Standard covers the following accessories: - AP2 - rod clevis, female thread (see Figure 1 and Table 1)
- AP4 - rod eye, plain, female thread (see Figure 2 and Table 2)
- AA4-L - pivot pin (locking plate type) (see Figure 3 and Table 3)
- AL6 - locking plate for pivot pin (see Figure 4 and Table 4)
- AA4-S - pivot pin plain (see Figure 5 and Table 5). These accessories are used on hydraulic cylinders for mechanically transmitting the cylinder force. The design of these accessories is based on the maximum forces resulting from the specified internal diameters of the cylinders and pressures according to ISO 2944 and ISO 3320.

ISO 21018-1:2008: Hydraulic fluid power — Monitoring the level of particulate contamination in the fluid — Part 1: General principles. This part of ISO 21018 specifies methods and techniques that are applicable to the monitoring of particulate contamination levels in hydraulic systems. It also describes the relative merits of various techniques so that the correct monitor for a given application can be selected. The techniques described in this part of ISO 21018 are suitable for monitoring a) the general cleanliness level in hydraulic systems; b) the progress in flushing operations c) support equipment and test rigs. This part of ISO 21018 can also be applicable for other liquids (e.g. lubricants, fuels and process liquids). NOTE Instruments used to monitor particulate contamination are not considered as or claimed to be particle counters, even if they use the same physical principles as particle counters.

ISO 21018-3:2008: Hydraulic fluid power — Monitoring the level of particulate contamination in the fluid — Part 3: Use of the filter blockage technique. This part of ISO 21018 specifies a method for the semi-quantitative determination of the particulate contamination level using the filter blockage technique (also known as the mesh-obscuration method or the pore-blockage technique) either on-line or off-line in containers. It also defines procedures for calibrating the instruments and verifying their correct operation both in the laboratory and in service. In general, the techniques described in this part of ISO 21018 are suitable for monitoring a) the general cleanliness level in hydraulic systems, b) the progress in flushing operations, c) support equipment and test rigs. The use of this method is applicable to all single- or multi-phase liquid systems.

ISO 23181:2007: Hydraulic fluid power — Filter elements — Determination of resistance to flow fatigue using high viscosity fluid. This International Standard specifies a method for determining the resistance of a hydraulic filter element to flow fatigue when it is subjected to high viscosity fluid, using a uniformly varying flow rate up to a predetermined maximum differential pressure and a controlled waveform. It establishes a method for verifying the ability of a filter element to withstand the flexing caused by cyclic differential pressures induced by a variable flow rate. ISO 23309:2007: Hydraulic fluid power systems – Assembled systems – Methods of cleaning lines by flushing. This International Standard defines procedures for flushing from the hydraulic lines of larger hydraulic systems solid particulate contamination that can be introduced during the initial build of a new hydraulic system or after maintenance or modification of an existing system. This International Standard supplements, but does not replace, the requirements of the component supplier or the customer, especially when those requirements are stricter than those specified by this International Standard. This International Standard is not applicable to: a) the chemical cleaning and pickling of hydraulic tubes or b) the cleaning of major system components (see ISO/TR 10949). Verification of the cleanliness of assembled systems is covered in ISO/TS 16431.

ANSI/(NFPA)T2.13.14-2007: Recommended practice — Hydraulic fluid power – Use of environmentally acceptable fluids. ISO 1179-1:2007: Connections for general use and fluid power — Ports and stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads with elastomeric or metal-to-metal sealing — Part 1: Threaded ports. This part of ISO 1179 specifies dimensions for ports with ISO 228-1 threads for use with non-adjustable stud ends shown in ISO 1179-2, ISO 1179-3 and ISO 1179-4 and with adjustable stud ends shown in ISO 1179-3.  Ports in accordance with this part of ISO 1179 may be used: - with ISO 1179-2 heavy duty (S series) stud ends with type E sealing at working pressures up to 63 MPa (630 bar) and light duty (L series) stud ends at working pressures up to 25 MPa (250 bar); - with ISO 1179-3 light duty (L series) stud ends with type G sealing at working pressures up to 31,5 MPa (315 bar), and with ISO 1179-3 light duty (L series) adjustable stud ends with type H sealing at working pressures up to 20 MPa (200 bar); - and with ISO 1179-4 stud ends with type B sealing at working pressures up to 40 MPa (400 bar) for the S series, up to 25 MPa (250 bar) for the L series, and up to 10 MPa (100 bar) for the LL series, except for the G2 size port, which in hydraulic fluid power systems is used mainly with accumulators and for which ISO 1179-2, ISO 1179-3 and ISO 1179-4 do not specify stud ends. ISO 1179-2:2007: Connections for general use and fluid power — Ports and stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads with elastomeric or metal-to-metal sealing — Part 2: Heavy-duty (S series) and light-duty (L series) stud ends with elastomeric sealing (type E). This part of ISO 1179 specifies dimensions, performance requirements and test procedures for heavy duty (S series) and light duty (L series) stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads and the elastomeric sealing (type E) that is used with them. 
     Heavy duty (S series) stud ends with type E sealing in accordance with this part of ISO 1179 may be used at working pressures up to 63 MPa (630 bar). Light duty (L series) stud ends with type E sealing in accordance with this part of ISO 1179 may be used at working pressures up to 25 MPa (250 bar). The permissible working pressure depends upon size, materials, design, working conditions, application, etc. 
     Conformance to the dimensional information in this part of ISO 1179 does not guarantee rated performance. This part of ISO 1179 specifies dimensions, performance requirements and test procedures for nonadjustable and adjustable light duty (L series) stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads with sealing by O-ring with retaining ring (types G and H, respectively). Light-duty (L series) stud ends in accordance with this part of ISO 1179 may be used at working pressures up to 31,5 MPa (315 bar) for non-adjustable stud ends (type G) and up to 20 MPa (200 bar) for adjustable stud ends (type H). ISO 1179-4:2007: Connections for general use and fluid power — Ports and stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads with elastomeric or metal-to-metal sealing — Part 4: Stud ends for general use only with metal-to-metal sealing (type B). This part of ISO 1179 specifies dimensions, performance requirements and test procedures for stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads and metal-to-metal sealing for general use only. These stud ends should not be used for leak-free hydraulic fluid power applications.
     Stud ends in accordance with this part of ISO 1179 may be used at working pressures up to 40 MPa (400 bar) for S series, up to 25 MPa (250 bar) for the L series, and up to 10 MPa (100 bar) for the LL series. The permissible working pressure depends upon size, materials, design, working conditions, application, etc.
     Conformance to the dimensional information in this part of ISO 1179 does not guarantee rated performance. ISO 4409:2007: Hydraulic fluid power — Positive displacement pumps, motors and integral transmissions — Methods of testing and presenting basic steady-state performance. This International Standard specifies methods for determining the performance and efficiency of hydraulic fluid power positive displacement pumps, motors and integral transmissions. It applies to components having continuously rotating shafts.  This International Standard specifies the requirements for test installations, test procedures under steady-state conditions and the presentation of test results.

ISO 7789:2007: Hydraulic fluid power — Two-, three- and four-port screw-in cartridge valves — Cavities. This International Standard specifies the dimensions and provides other data relating to cavities in which two-, three- and four-port, screw-in cartridge valves are mounted in order to ensure interchangeability.
     It is applicable to two-, three- and four-port screw-in cartridge valves generally used in industrial and mobile equipment.

ISO 8434-1:2007: Metallic tube connections for fluid power and general use – Part 1: 24° cone connectors . This part of ISO 8434 specifies the general and dimensional requirements for 24 degree cone connectors using cutting ring and O-ring seal cone (referred to as DKO) suitable for use with ferrous and non-ferrous tubes with outside diameters from 4 mm to 42 mm inclusive. These connectors are for use in fluid power and general applications within the limits of pressure and temperature specified in this part of ISO 8434. 
     They are intended for the connection of plain end tubes and hose fittings to ports in accordance with ISO 6149-1, ISO 1179-1 and ISO 9974-1.  (See ISO 12151-2 for related hose fitting specification.)
     These connectors provide full-flow connections in hydraulic systems operating to the working pressures shown in Table 1. Because many factors influence the pressure at which a system performs satisfactorily, these values shall not be understood as guaranteed minimums. For every application, it is recommended that sufficient testing be conducted and reviewed by both the user and manufacturer to ensure that required performance levels are met.
     NOTE 1: For new designs in hydraulic fluid power applications, see the requirements given in 9.6.  Where the requirements of the application allow for the use of elastomeric seals, connector designs that conform to International Standards and incorporate elastomeric sealing are preferred.
     NOTE 2: For use under conditions outside the pressure and/or temperature limits specified, see 5.4.
     This part of 8434 also specifies a performance and qualification test for these connectors.

ISO 8434-2:2007: Metallic tube connections for fluid power and general use – Part 2: 37° flared connectors . This part of ISO 8434 specifies general and dimensional requirements for the design and performance of 37 degree flared connectors that are suitable for use with ferrous and non-ferrous tubes with outside diameters from 6 mm to 50,8 mm, inclusive. These connectors are for use in fluid power and general applications within the limits of pressure and temperature specified in this part of ISO 8434.
     They are intended for the connection of tubes and hose connectors to ports in accordance with ISO 6149-1, ISO 1179-1 and ISO 11926-1. (See ISO 12151-5 for related hose fitting specification.)
     These connectors provide full-flow connections with metal-to-metal sealing in hydraulic systems operating to the working pressures shown in Table 1. Because many factors influence the pressure at which a system performs satisfactorily, these values shall not be understood as guaranteed minimums. For every application, sufficient testing will need to be conducted and the results reviewed by both the user and manufacturer to ensure that required performance levels are met.
     NOTE 1: For new designs in hydraulic fluid power applications, see the requirements given in 9.6. Where the requirements of the application allow for the use of elastomeric seals, connector designs that conform to International Standards and incorporate elastomeric sealing are preferred.
     NOTE 2: For use under conditions outside the pressure and/or temperature limits specified, see 5.5.
     Both metric and inch tubing can be accommodated by changing the sleeve (see Figure 7). In the past, these connectors have been used predominantly with inch tubing. For new and future designs, the use of metric tubing is preferred.
     This part of ISO 8434 also specifies a performance and qualification test for 37-degree flared connectors.

ISO 19973-1:2007: Pneumatic fluid power — Assessment of component reliability by testing — Part 1: General procedures. This part of ISO 19973 provides general procedures, the calculation method for assessing the reliability of pneumatic fluid power component, and the methods of reporting. These procedures are independent of the kinds of components and of their design.
     This part of ISO 19973 also provides general test conditions and a method for data evaluation.
     NOTE Because the service life of any component is subject to variations, a statistical evaluation assists the interpretation of the test results.
     The methods specified in this part of ISO 19973 apply to the first failure without repairs (see IEC 60300-3-5), but exclude outliers; however, because outliers can be highly significant, information about how to deal with them is given in Annex D.

ISO 19973-2:2007: Pneumatic fluid power — Assessment of component reliability by testing — Part 2: Directional control valves. This part of ISO 19973 provides test procedures for determining the reliability of pneumatic directional control valves by testing and the methods of reporting the results of testing. General test conditions and the calculation method are provided in part 1 of ISO 19973. The methods specified in that part of ISO 19973 apply to the first failure without repairs, but exclude outliers.
     The lifetime of pneumatic and electro-pneumatic directional control valves is usually given as a number of cycles. Therefore, whenever the term "time" is used in this part of ISO 19973, this variable is to be understood as cycles.
     This part of ISO 19973 also specifies test equipment and threshold levels for tests to determine the reliability of pneumatic valves.

ISO 19973-3:2007: Pneumatic fluid power — Assessment of component reliability by testing — Part 3: Cylinders with piston rod. This part of ISO 19973 provides test procedures for determining the reliability of pneumatic cylinders with piston rod by testing and the methods of reporting the results of testing. The general test conditions and the calculation method are provided in part 1 of ISO 19973; the methods specified in Part 1 of ISO 19973 apply to the first failure without repairs, but exclude outliers.
     The lifetime of pneumatic cylinders is usually given in number of cycles or in kilometres. Therefore, whenever the term "time" is used in this part of ISO 19973, this variable is to be understood as cycles or kilometres.
     This part of ISO 19973 also specifies test equipment and threshold levels for tests to determine the reliability of pneumatic cylinders with piston rods, both single-acting and double-acting.
     This part of ISO 19973 is intended to be applied to pneumatic piston rod cylinders that conform to ISO 6430, ISO 6432, ISO 15552 and ISO 21287; however, pneumatic piston rod cylinders that do not conform to these International Standards but are used in the same range of operating conditions can be tested in accordance with one of the classes defined in Tables 1 and 2 of this part of ISO 19973. It is necessary that any deviation from this part of ISO 19973 be documented in the test report.

ISO 19973-4:2007: Pneumatic fluid power — Assessment of component reliability by testing — Part 4: Pressure regulators. This part of ISO 19973 provides test procedures for assessing the reliability of pneumatic pressure regulators by testing and the methods of reporting the results of testing.  General test conditions and the calculation method are provided in ISO 19973-1.  The methods specified in ISO 19973-1 apply to the first failure without repairs, but exclude outliers.
     The lifetime of pneumatic pressure regulators is usually given as a number of cycles. Therefore, whenever the term "time" is used in this part of ISO 19973, this variable shall be understood as cycles.
     This part of ISO 19973 applies to manually adjustable and remote-piloted pressure regulators, both relieving and non-relieving. This part of ISO 19973 does not apply to pressure regulators that have a permanent bleed.
     This part of ISO 19973 also specifies test equipment and failure criteria (threshold levels) for tests to assess the reliability of pneumatic pressure regulators. 
     The life determined by the method in this part of ISO 19973 and in ISO 19973-1 is more conservative than the life experienced in actual field service.

ANSI/(NFPA)T3.6.59-1993 (R2007): Hydraulic fluid power – Cylinders – Cushion performance. This standard defines maximum energy absorption guidelines for ANSI/B93.15. This standard will develop a method of presenting hydraulic cushion suitability.

ANSI/(NFPA)T3.5.29 R1-2007: fluid power components – Electrically-controlled industrial valves – Interface dimensions for electrical connectors . This standard includes interface dimensions and configurations for electrical plug-type connectors (not intended for current interruption) used with single or double electrically-controlled fluid power control valve used in industrial (in-plant) applications. This standard is intended to: a) simplify variety and facilitate installation and servicing; b) promote interchangeability and greater use of electrically-controlled fluid power controls. This standard applies to the dimensional criteria, pin usage and installation requirements of products manufactured in conformance with this standard. It does not fully define their functional characteristics.

NFPA/T2.12.11-2-2007: Hydraulic fluid power components – Assessment of reliability by testing. This recommended practice provides guidelines for assessing the reliability of hydraulic components by testing and reporting for components used in fluid power systems. Specific requirements for assessing the reliability of the components are contained in annexes to this practice.
This practice applies to the following components: accumulators; hydraulic cylinders; hydraulic filters; hydraulic pumps and motors; and hydraulic valves.
This practice provides: general requirements for reliability testing; statistical methods for determining reliability; an example of reliability calculations; and annexes with specific test guidelines and threshold level criteria for each component listed above.
