Catrina Boettner has joined the staff as NFPA's Digital Content Manager.  In this new position she will work with members and staff on NFPA's digital content delivery and social media initiatives. Catrina has nearly a decade of experience in marketing, social media and web content strategies.  Over the last two years she has been a consultant in these areas focused both inside and outside of the manufacturing industry.

 
Eaton Corporation has recently acquired Cooper Industries, a manufacturer of lighting and electrical-distribution equipment company based in Houston, TX.


The Fluid Power Institute at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE)  will celebrate its 50th anniversary and the continuing growth of fluid power on Thursday, July 12, 2012.  Details can be found here.



Poclain Hydraulics recently rented the Milwaukee Mile racetrack to do some high speed fuel economy testing on a semi tractor with a Poclain hydraulic energy recovery system on it.  They finished testing early and Mike Scotese just happened to have a helmet and his old Porsche with him.  He ran 25 hot laps.  According to Mike, "The German V8 ran great!!  The American driver, not so good!!"  Be sure to watch the end of the YouTube video to see the grin on Mike's face.



RHM Fluid Power was recently honored by the William D. Ford Career-Technical Center of the Wayne-Westland Schools in Michigan for its “…contributions of guidance, inspiration and support to students from our Cooperative Education program.” 

RHM Fluid Power also announces the addition of two new members to its management team.  Mark Pasko has taken on the position of engineering manager and Tom Kelly has assumed the position of plant manager.



Sun Hydraulics reported a strong first quarter with sales of $55 million and earnings of $0.41 per share.
