The NFPA Fluid Power Challenge sponsored by Deltrol Fluid Products was held on October 25 and November 15, at Harper College in Palatine, IL. This is the fifth year for this Challenge and it has grown tremendously each year thanks to Bill Parks and all of the dedicated staff at Deltrol. 74 teams competed on the two days.

The NFPA Fluid Power Challenge is a competition that challenges middle school students to solve an engineering problem using fluid power. It was started in 2008 with three teams of four students. It has grown nationally to approximately 2,500 students that have participated and benefitted. This program is an incredible learning experience for students giving them skills in hydraulics and pneumatics as well as team building and problem solving. In addition to that, the students have a lot of fun working together and cheering each other on.
