Recently, the NFPA Education and Technology Foundation awarded 20 Fluid Power Scholarships to students studying fluid power related degrees for the 2026-27 academic year. The NFPA Education and Technology Foundation is excited to announce updates for the upcoming scholarship cycle.
The NFPA Education and Technology Foundation is now accepting applications for $2,500 Fluid Power Scholarships available to students pursuing fluid power education. This scholarship is partially funded by generous donations to the Tom Wanke Legacy Fund. Multiple scholarships are available for the 2027-28 academic year. The deadline for applying is February 1, 2027, at 11:59 PM CT.
A completed online application includes two essays (one 500-word, and one 200-word), one letter of recommendation, an enrollment verification form, and a transcript with a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Foundation’s goal is to help graduating high school seniors, and individuals enrolled at technical colleges, community colleges, and universities pursue their interests in fluid power.

NFPA Members are invited to help review applications for the Fluid Power Scholarship program. Reviewers can expect to review applications from qualified and passionate students in February-March 2027. The total time commitment is approximately 6-10 hours.
NFPA’s scholarship program relies on the expertise of volunteer judges from the fluid power industry. In 2026, volunteer judges reviewed 125 eligible applications from students interested in fluid power education and careers.
The accomplishments of the 2026 scholarship awardees will be highlighted in the NFPA News and on our Social Media accounts throughout the year. Many of these students will be seeking internships or full-time jobs in the future, so please keep them in mind for your hiring needs.
