Seeking NFPA Member to Host Ohio Fluid Power Action Challenge

Written by James Foster | Aug 28, '25
NFPA and Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) have been discussing the need for a spring 2026 Fluid Power Action Challenge event that helps Cleveland area students learn about fluid power. The hands-on event introduces students to fluid power education, connects them with members, and informs them about fluid power careers. We need your help to make this happen.

We are seeking an Ohio NFPA member to host / organize the event.

Please contact James Foster (jfoster@nfpa.com) with questions, interest, and to learn more.

Students and Educators Value the Fluid Power Action Challenge!

“I loved learning about Pascal’s Law and seeing it in action. The competition was intense, but it really helped me understand how engineers use fluid power in the real world.” -Student Participant

"I plan to take two engineering classes next year as an 8th grader and participate in the Fluid Power Action Challenge again." – Student Participant

“Creativity was everywhere! Some teams made robotic arms, others created lifting machines or catapults—all powered by fluid motion. It was amazing to see how each team used their imagination along with their engineering skills. In the end, students walked away with a better understanding of engineering, measuring, and the power of perseverance and teamwork.” -Educator Participant
