Some highlights from the report include:
- Vehicle Market Growth
- Automobile and Light Duty Motor Vehicle capacity utilization increased by 5.5% M/M. Capacity utilization for Motor Vehicle and Parts increased by 3.7% M/M. Industrial Production for Automobile, Light Truck, and Utility Vehicle experienced a harsh -8% M/M, but remains up overall with a 3.1% Y/Y.
- However, Industrial Production for Heavy Duty Truck is experiencing large hits with -9.6% Y/Y and -24% 12/12. The 3/12 crossed the 12/12 in December 2025 has been maintaining that reversal meaning Heavy Duty Truck Industrial Production should be on pace for an increase.
- Construction Outside of Manufacturing
- Total Construction Spending: Manufacturing in the United States is consistently down since January 2025 with -10.5% 12/12, -17% Y/Y and a -1.1% M/M. Despite this decrease in manufacturing construction, Construction Equipment Shipments are up 21.6% M/M and 14.1% Y/Y, with a 4.1% PPI Y/Y. Producer selling prices are 4.1% higher than last year, but shipment dollars are up by nearly 3.5 times more than that.
- Industrial Production for Construction Equipment is down 1.8% M/M but is overall growing with 8.9% Y/Y and 2.7% 12/12. Construction Equipment remains stable despite the consistent decreases in manufacturing construction.
