Fluid Power Talent in NFPA Workforce Development Programs

Where are you sourcing your fluid power talent? The NFPA has strategic relationships for your hiring needs!

The fluid power industry faces a growing challenge: member companies consistently rank recruiting a skilled workforce among their most difficult issues. NFPA’s workforce development initiatives work to increase the number of students educated in fluid power and connect them to careers in the industry.

At the National Fluid Power Association, our workforce staff manages a variety of programs in middle and high schools, as well as 2- and 4-year colleges to foster industry awareness and help our members build a talent pipeline grounded in real-world skills and industry relevance.

Through these pipelines and strategic relationships, the NFPA has connections with educators, hosts on-campus events, receives resumes from emerging talent, and connects members to classroom speaking opportunities, and requests for facility tours.

These pipelines are known as the “Fast Track to Fluid Power” and “Power Partner Universities”. Some examples of touch points to meet your next hires include:

  • Hosting an intern from a Fast Track High School, or Power Partner University

  • Hosting an apprentice from a Fast Track Hub (fun fact: many apprenticeship programs have funding available to offset the employer cost of apprenticeship)

  • Attending Recruiting Events and Fluid Power Days at Fast Track High Schools, Fast Track Hubs, and Power Partner Universities

  • Reviewing Resumes Submitted to the Pascal Society Resume Bank

What are your current hiring practices, and how can the NFPA help build on your talent strategy? Tell us more!

We are ready to plug you into these workforce development pipelines to meet your hiring needs. Reach out to workforce@nfpa.com with comments and questions.
