Latest Fluid Power Forecasts and Reports from Oxford Economics

Oxford Economics provides us with a great deal of data and reports. It can sometimes be hard to navigate what each report provides and where to find each one. Everything, except one report, can be found on our Global Market Reports and Forecasts tab: https://www.nfpa.com/global-forecast-oxford-economics The separate report is for regional demand and can be found on our Regional Demand Estimates tab: https://www.nfpa.com/regional-demand-estimates

Global Fluid Power Report and Forecast

This report is released quarterly and contains 21 different countries alongside a global outlook. For each country, there is a macroeconomic overview and then a few short bullet points about hydraulic and pneumatic demand. Additionally, there is a sector outlook table going out for 4 years and a few general economy graphs. We also upload the Excel file to easily pull the regional and country specific hydraulic and pneumatic data. This is found under the name “Global Fluid Power Forecast Data”.

This report can be used to get a quick perspective on major countries and their economies with a specific focus on fluid power. It can show what sectors are growing in other regions and give an insight on the overall global economy. The data file can be used for various things such as global expansion analysis or modeling pricing adjustments based on the expected demand growth.

Global Industry Forecasts

This a bundle of reports that include 15 specific industries and a holistic overview article. This is a quarterly release and digs into the specifics of the chosen industry. After the overview of the industry, it is then broken down by region in detail. It highlights policies and other relevant changes to paint a full picture of the industry’s movement in that region. The report then concludes with a section of general graphs regarding the industry and a synopsis of what is driving the forecasts. The overview report is much longer and covers a macroeconomic outlook per region and then tables breaking down multiple industries.

These reports provide a deep dive into a specific industry and its changes around the world. This can be used to understand what is affecting a sector across the globe. It can highlight regions that could be worth expanding into or ones that might be relatively stagnant. The report could possibly be used for determining industry specific budget allocations by comparing the domestic changes for each sector.

Global Industry Briefings

This batch of reports is similar to the Global Industry Forecasts, but it is a much briefer monthly release. It is also a set of 15 industries and an overview report. Instead of writing breaking down the industry’s position in each region, the Briefings write about global movements. There are multiple graphs that highlight major players in the industry as well as a few tables. The overview report is also brief and discusses global industrial production and its changes.

The monthly reports can be used to quickly check in on an industry. The short but informative nature of the report allows for an insight into the most recent changes to the industry. When combined with the quarterly reports, it allows for a full in-depth tracking on a sector throughout the year.

Country Briefings and Forecasts

The country forecasts are a series of quarterly reports that examine the economy and the component sectors for each individual country. Inverse of the industry forecasts that highlight a sector across the globe, this highlights a country across all industries. There is much more data included in these reports that relate to the country itself. It also allows for deeper explanation into how the country is moving in each industry.

This can be used to understand how a country is holistically moving. The specific breakdowns show how industries are moving and the effects of policies and events. Since it is forecasting, there are also descriptions of how policies and events are going to impact the upcoming periods. There are 28 different countries displayed on the website, but we have a total of 78 reports every quarter. If there is a country you would like to see, please ask for the report. There are many countries that have a report but are not included in the industry forecasts or the Global Fluid Power Report.

World Economic Prospects Report

This report is a monthly overview of global key changes and monthly developments for various major economies. This is a very thorough report and focuses on the country’s economy as a whole. It examines the major global developments and most pressing changes. The following countries specifically focus on holistic indicators like GDP changes, inflation, monetary policy, and unemployment.

This report differs from any of the previous reports as it is not focusing on specific industries. It shows the developments in major economies from changes in trends to new policies to potential issues. This can be used to better understand the impact of world events on the economies of major participants. It also can be used for comparison such as the country’s economic movements to trends in sales data.

Special Reports

The special reports are monthly reports that are intentionally selected to highlight relevant changes in the US or the global market. These are only a handful of pages long and are essentially quick looks into specific issues or major world events. They can be used to get a peek into monthly updates and possibly serve as a starting point for further exploration.

Regional Demand Estimates Report

This is a bi-annual report that combines a variety of data from many sources to profile the estimated geographic distribution of fluid power products to end-use industries by states. It includes sales dollar and percentage estimates, a number of establishments per industry in each state, and many more breakdowns.

This data can be used for a multitude of purposes. By seeing each industry and their respective state breakdowns, reports can be created about regional expansion, supply chain movements, and industry allocations. The tab that has the report also has drop-down menus that talk about how to use and apply the data.
