Member Engagement Continues to Strengthen the Fluid Power Talent Pipeline

Beyond hands-on learning, students benefit from the real-world insight gained through member facility tours, Fluid Power Day events, Speaker’s Bureau classroom talks, and connection events. This academic year, multiple members participated in these Workforce programs; and the graph below highlights member involvement, which helped students learn about the companies, the industry, and available fluid power careers.5.18.26 Member W.F Event Counts FY25-26
Thank you members for collaborating with the NFPA Workforce Team, making time to engage with students, and helping to strengthen the talent pipeline. Students and educators appreciate your support, as reflected in the quotes below.

•    East & West Leyden High School (HydraForce Facility Tour) - “Wow—thank you for taking the time to host our group. We appreciate your generosity of time, knowledge, and insight. It was valuable for our students to see your work firsthand and learn from professionals who shared their expertise and experience so openly. Your products and facilities were eye-opening, and your engineers’ guidance on universities, opportunities, and careers was invaluable. Students are already telling others about what they saw.”

•    Ridgewood High School Educators (Connection Event) - “Thanks to the NFPA members who came out to speak with our students. They were engaging and open, which was incredible. Our students got a lot out of it and are already asking for more events like this in the future.”

•    High School Educator (Triton College Fluid Power Day) - “Thank you all for making time to help students learn about our industry and career opportunities.”

•    St. Augustine Preparatory Academy (WCTC Fluid Power Day) - “Engaging, informative; and the speakers helped my learn about the industry and their company.”

•    Triton College Student (Speaker’s Bureau) - “Thank you for your time last night speaking with our Engineering Technology students about your company and the world of fluid power. The one-on-one time with the fluid power project teams was invaluable.”

•    SDSU Student (SunSource, Danfoss, & Nott Co. Facility Tours) - “Each tour gave us valuable insight into the real-world fluid power industry.”

As the 2026–27 academic year planning begins, we look forward to continuing the collaborations and helping members connect with schools and emerging talent. Please contact the Workforce Team (Workforce@nfpa.com) to learn more about the programs and how your company can engage with students, educators and schools.
