The session opened with an industry overview from Stephanie Scaccianoce, NFPA’s Vice President of Workforce Development, followed by a Youth Advisory Board–led panel featuring Ada Leung (Anfield Sensors, Inc.), Cindy Cookson (Gates Corporation), and Sharvari Divey-Teall (Crown Equipment Corporation). Panelists discussed innovation, collaboration, and emerging trends such as automation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. Donna Pollander, CEO of the International Fluid Power Society, closed the event with insights on certification and professional development opportunities. Feedback from NGCP indicated students gained greater awareness of fluid power career paths and increased interest in the industry.
One Youth Advisor Board Member shared:
“The NFPA Fluid Power Town Hall introduced me to a career pathway I had never considered before. Hearing from professionals about the role of fluid power in sustainability, AI, and emerging technologies was eye-opening for me!”
Another student participant reflected:
“It was an honor to help in hosting the town hall, and I really enjoyed hearing from an all-women panel as they shared their experiences. I’m grateful for the insight that these empowering women shared, especially how important it is to speak up and ask questions in the fluid power industry.”
We extend a special thank you to Ada, Cindy, and Sharvari for sharing their time, expertise, and experiences with the next generation of industry leaders.
