The National Fluid Power Association continues to advance industry insight through its new Technology Trends and Reports webpage, a centralized hub for research, analysis, and forward-looking resources tied to the NFPA Technology Roadmap.
Updated every two years, the NFPA Technology Roadmaps capture the evolving needs of fluid power customers, assess how well current technologies meet those needs, and identify critical research and development priorities for the future. The most recent Roadmap, published in 2025, focuses on industrial applications, while the 2023 edition explored mobile applications.
Building on this foundation, the new webpage brings together a wide range of supplemental resources developed by NFPA’s Technology Roadmap Working Groups. Members and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)'s can access surveys, podcasts, webinars, and task force reports covering key industry topics such as leak prevention, energy efficiency, functional safety, pace of technology adoption, electrification in fluid power, and communication and data protocols for mobile equipment.
These resources reflect ongoing collaboration across the fluid power supply chain and highlight major trends shaping the industry, including electrification, connectivity, and automation. NFPA task forces continue to explore these areas to help ensure fluid power remains a leading actuation technology in an increasingly advanced machine landscape.
Call for Participation: NFPA Industrial Technology Working Groups
NFPA engages with stakeholders across the fluid power supply chain to develop industry-leading content and is establishing Working Groups within its Industrial Technology Task Force. Participation can take many forms, including case studies, short articles, podcasts, and reports that address trending industry topics.
NFPA is seeking volunteers to contribute their expertise, expand their networks across the value chain, and help guide the future of hydraulics and pneumatics. To learn more, contact Erin Bauer at ebauer@nfpa.com or explore the Technology Trends and Reports page.
