Councils, Committees and Task Forces
NFPA is a member-driven organization that offers several ways to get involved. Constituency Councils represent specific groups within the membership, helping recruit and engage members while shaping programs to better serve their needs. Committees provide ongoing leadership and direction for initiatives that strengthen the fluid power industry and support member success. Task Forces bring members together for a limited time to address a specific project, challenge or opportunity.
Each group gives participants a voice, valuable industry insight and opportunities to build relationships with fellow industry leaders. Explore the sections below to learn more and get involved.
Taskforce Mission:
Develops, maintains and supplements the NFPA Technology Roadmap, identifying the areas of pre-competitive research necessary to meet the future needs of fluid power customers, expand fluid power into new customer markets, and attract the best and brightest young engineers to fluid power.

Purpose Statement:
NFPA’s CID Task Force brings together members interested in electronic controls, sensor technology and data management services to advance projects important to the fluid power industry. Unlike the former CID Council, which was limited to CID members, the task force is open to all NFPA membership types.

Purpose Statement:
NFPA's Distributor Council works to recruit more members, to more effectively plug into NFPA programs, and to influence program development and delivery to better serve the needs of distributor members.

NFPA's Supplier Council works to recruit more members, to more effectively plug into NFPA programs, and to influence program development and delivery to better serve the needs of supplier members.

Committee Mission:
Provides direction and support to programs that provide data and other market information on the domestic and international fluid power industry and customer markets. Helps engage members in creation of value and in program development and delivery.
